The borosilicate glass has a coefficient of expansion of approximately one third of ordinary glass, it makes it more durable than other glasses to thermal shock. 

The borosilicate glass has a density of 2.23 g / cm3 lower than the ordinary glass (2.57g / cm3). 

These properties make it ideal as a printer dock.
